Photographer’s Note

Esta foto es la primera de una serie de tres que tomé durante una puesta de sol por las montañas que cierran el valle de Arinsal, en el Principado de Andorra.
No sabía cuál de ellas poner como foto principal, ya que las tres me gustan, pero he optado por el orden cronológico. Ésta es la primera que tomé, a las 19:57 h, y a la derecha se pueden ver las nubes de tormenta que, empujadas por vientos del norte, saltaban la cordillera desde territorio francés. Se pueden ver a la izquierda, el Pic de Comapedrosa, de 2942 m de altura y montaña más alta de Andorra, y a su derecha, el Pic de Medecorba, y bajo las nubes, el Pic de Racofred.

En el WORKSHOP 1 pongo la segunda foto, tomada a las 19:59 h, en un plano un poco más cerrado, donde se ven los dos primeros picos citados y las nubes que ya empiezan a tener unos tonos rosados.

En el WORKSHOP 2 pongo la tercera foto, tomada a las 20:19 h, y las nubes amenazantes casi han desaparecido, transformándose en unas bonitas pinceladas de color rosa sobre el cielo y la silueta de las tres montañas citadas.

This photo is first of a series of three that I took during a sunset by the mountains that close the valley of Arinsal, in the Principality of Andorra.
It did not know which of them to put like main photo, since the three I like, but I have decided on the chronological order. This one is first that I took, to 19:57 h, and to the right the storm clouds can be seen that, pushed by northern winds, they jumped the mountain range from French territory. They are possible to be seen the left, the Pic de Comapedrosa, of 2942 ms of height and higher mountain of Andorra, and to its right, the Pic de Medecorba, and under clouds, the Pic de Racofred.

In WORKSHOP 1 I put the second photo, taken to 19:59 h, in a plane a little more closed, where both first mentioned peaks are seen and the clouds that already begin to have pink tones.

In WORKSHOP 2 I put the third photo, taken to 20:19 h, and the threatening clouds almost are disappear, transforming itself into pretty touches of pink color on the sky and the silhouette of three mentioned mountains.

un très joli graphisme donné par cette silhouette de la montagne. J'aime ces nuages qui viennent la caresser et même la franchir. La lumière est belle et l'ambiance est calme et reposante. Beau travail

Hallo Josep!
A beautiful picture which shows very well the approaching night. The already dark valley and the nearly black cloud at the right side give an impressing contrast to the still bright higher clouds and the blue sky. A fascinating atmosphere...

Ce que j'aime, chez toi (entre autres), mon ami Josep, c'est ta façon de nous présenter la montagne, qu'elle soit vue du bas ou du haut, l'on sent que tu aimes la montagne ; tu arrives à nous faire partager cet amour des montagnes.

Very simple and effective composition. You must have had great difficulty deciding which one as your main post. The big bank of fog rolling in on the right adds that extra element for this one.

Hello Josep,
nicely captured shot from a very good pov with fantastic light and wonderful mild colours. I like the different tones of the mountains' silhouettes and the low clouds covering a part of them. Great atmosphere here,compliments!

Hi Josep - 3 nice images that are simple but effective shots. Of the 3 I think I prefer the WS titled 'Later' just for the colours in the sky. The silhouette is good in all 3 images.

Hola Josep,

Great coming night shot. I like clouds, blue sky but especially dark sides of mountain ridges. Clouds on top are beautiful. Your particular note and workshops add more value as happened ever time.

Shooting clouds and sky is different enjoyment for me. I was thinking make some shoots of clouds and black to blue colored sky here before arrive to our house this afternoon (just before dusk) but I couldn’t. I saw your photo when I sit to my desk then laughed with my self that Dear Josep already did it. Congratulations

- Un joli aspect de la montagne durant le crépuscule qui offre de si belles couleurs au ciel, la légèreté de certains nuages contrastant avec la dureté des autres, la délicatesse de la lumière et la montagne en ombre chinoise font de cet ensemble simple au départ, une réussite, bravo !

Aunque la parte inferior es muy oscuro, me gustan las formas de las montanas y la simple pero buena composicion. Las nubes estan maravillosas y los colores en el cielo muy buenos. No una de tus mejores fotos, amigo, pero me gusta.

Hola Josep,

Hermosa luz en tu foto amigo! Me gusta mucho la exposición, con las montañas oscurecidas para rescatar la presencia del cielo y nubes; creo que eso y la composición, le dan a la iamgen un muy buen equilibrio.

De hecho, las imágenes del WS también son de excelente calidad y si bien esta es mi preferida por la luz, también me ha gustado mucho la del WS1.

I like how the silhouetted mountains almost divide the frame into two. It’s an excellent exhibition of light & shade, with the colours of the sky coming out very well. The thick cloud rolling in from the right makes it even more interesting. Even your WS photos are excellent & I may be slightly tempted to go with the Image 2 because of the red clouds

An interesting capture of the sunlit clouds as they dift over the mountain range. I like the silhouette and how it contrasts against the sky in a dramatic way. Good framing and nice impact.
