Photographer’s Note

When you ride north from Gjirokaster through the valley of the river Djose you'll reach the town of Tepelene where the valley becomes tighter afetr 35 km. There hidden on a mountainslope lies one of the castles Ali Pasha of Tepelene, a famous ruler who made Albania a mighty and almost independent part of the ottoman empire in the 18th century.
He was a great militair who build a lot of fortifications. This one in his native town is one of the biggest.

Another impressive view of a marvellous landscape. The castle is nicely placed over the widding river. I love the color of it in the green mountains and the large areas of sand on the sides. I can see some curious pillars or rocks on the sand...

What a lovely view down to the river. Well composed with a good POV. The castle certainly had a good vantage point. Do you know that the little pillars are at the side of the river?

Albania is really a very pretty country, pity that until recently time was a great stranger.
This landscape is beautiful, the valley with the river and mountains, the splendid and enormous castle, and a sky that seems a painting, they form a great composition. I like.

Nice view and a good capture of this impressive landscape. Good exposure and contrast across the scene. The colour of the sky looks a little turquoise though. Perhaps a little colour adjustment could have been used here. Other than that, a fine shot.

L'Albanie, un pays d'Europe fort peu connu et visité, la politique instable y est pour quelque chose à mon avis.
Un excellent POV et cadrage pour présenter ce paysage, cette vallée.
J'aime les couleurs mais j'apprécie un peu moins le ciel.
