Albanian Tailoring has its own interesting history. Before the comunist rule most clothes were made at home by women. Then the communist regime in its attempt to make everybody look as uniform as soldiers introduced ready made clothes only the fervent communists would wear. In the 70s and 80s some clever people practiced tailoring at their homes. Almost all socially acceptable clothes were made by these people. Even though this practice was clearly agains the communist ethos I do not know of any case where anyone was procecuted.
This older tailor was one of them. Now he has his own shop doing bits and pieces but the most desirable clothing nowadays are the "firmato" (branded) ones with the Italian styles easily dominating the market.

A well dressed man. He would be a disgrace to his occupation otherwise, of course. You have made a fine portrait of him in a good light and with an amuslngly colourful background.

What a beautifully sharp and clear portrait of this very dapper and smartly dressed gentleman!
Beautifully taken against a fine background of wonderfully bright coloured cloths, totally at variance with the colours of the clothes he is wearing.
Well composed, relaxed and technically perfect with excellent detail and sharpness. I like the little "catchlights" in his eyes, even although he's not actually looking at you.

C'est un beau portrait d'un visage bien doux. Ta note ajoute a l'interet de l'image et le titre me rappelle de la premiere phrase de l'Assimil: "My tailor is rich. My tailor is not rich..." Si tu apprenais l'anglais dans ce bouquin. Puis je ne suis pas etonne que tu parles francais aussi, car en Albanie on apprenait cette lange plus que l'englais. Et je sais que la mode change.
