Photographer’s Note

Butrint has not only historic value but is also a place with nature interest. From the high places of the site you can see the Lake of Butrint which has an open link to the Ionian Sea. There are many wading birds like the great white Heron, camerons and even Pelicans fishing, while also little fishing boats frequent the lake and set out traps.
Inside the walls tere are turtles swimming in the pools
and you can here the sound of numerous singing birds. There are a lot of places within the site where the walls or other remains are overwhelmed by vegetation (see WS), an ideal place for the nesting of birds.

i can not but admire it..the color gradient between the near mountains, the far ones and light bule sky is spectacular and relaxing .. great job.i liked it so much.

Bonjour Gerrit,
Paradis terrestre pour la flore et la faune. Calme et beauté règnent en maître ici. J'ai remarqué que lorsque l'on souhaitait pouvoir photographier de beaux oiseaux, ces derniers se cachent et ne veulent pas prendre la pose ne serait-ce qu'un instant. Qu'importe, la vue est magnifique avec une très belle lumière.

Very well composed image with the use of the trees as a frame, which centres our attention on the distant mountains. The inclusion of the WS is a good addition to provide more visual information of this place.

Dag Gerrit,

Ik heb inderdaad uw WS gezien met een deel wilde natuur, iets wat bij ons tot de verledentijd behoort, ik wil altijd van een foto houden waar de takken van de bomen een deel van het fraem uitmaken zoals deze hier. De natuur en zijn bewoners zijn gelukkig met de weinige toeristen, hier zijn in ieder geval geen tezien.

Pretty frame with the lake and mountains, I like the situation of the branches creating a frame to the set, in a good backlighting, and the undulations of the water moved by the wind.

A very peaceful and pretty view across this lake to the green hills beyond. Beautiful blue sky with a few white fluffy clouds to add depth and interest. Best of all, I like the framing device with the trees in the foreground. Very nice work with strong natural colours.
