"Too many cooks (spoil the broth)" is a common English expression conveying the idea that when too many people work on the same project, they cannot help but spoil it. Also, I must admit I have never visited Albania. But it gives me pleasure to identify the location of this photo as that attractive mountainous country on the Dalmatian Coast. As a second disclaimer, I apologize for the questionable quality of the photo. I had only a pocket camera with me, poor backlit lighting. And because I viewed the scene through thick glass, I could not use a fill flash. So, it is a slow 1/6 second exposure with a handheld camera.
In October 2013 I was giving a series of talks on the elegant cruise ship Oceania Riviera. The short cruise departed from Rome and made single-day stopovers in Sorrento, Amalfi and Taormina (all in Italy); Zakynthos and Corfu (both in Greece); Dubrovnik (in Croatia) before ending in Venice. October 23 was a rare day at sea, and we were just off the coast of Albania, when I came by this puzzling scene — a small group, all wearing chef's hats, huddled over a large table. They turned out to be passengers participating in a cooking class... hell bent on spoiling the broth.

A composition with an amusing and very apt title. The lighting was not easy and there is some adverse effect on the technical quality. But it does not spoil our overall enjoyment of the picture, which conveys the atmosphere very well.

Bonsoir, cher Bulent,
Les cuisiniers amateurs ont revêtu une toque de chef pour s'initier à une certaine cuisine ! Cela ne fait pas de mal, mais pour les plats préparés, l'on peut s'attendre à des surprises.
Image originale et bien décrite.

a bit too big a photo, I prefer 1200 pixels, then it covers just the whole screen and I can read the note. But never mind. Amusing scene and unusual presentation of the pleasures of such a cruise. I wonder what the all cooked. We say, "where are six ladies cooks, there is nothing to eat" . Here apparently much more than six. And they are only talking..
You had a nice cruise, beautiful places to see and no big ocean. Have a nice day

Interesting reading nice photo. Excellent snapshot, I'd call it "Kitchen Meeting before Lunch Cooking". Nice light & details, excellent tight crop.
Very well done.

I know not what exactly with your picture is happens, this is real all grain also on the faces, maybe is my screen not perfect.
A pity I think a very good image, when is reads your notes.
One point to the picture and one point to your effort.
This is real not usual of your pictures.

Like the humour element in the photo. Looks like a scene from the popular TV show 'Master Chef'. Good moment captured with so many chef hats in one single frame. Nice one, thanks for sharing.

Your picture shows a very interesting scene I'm familiar with. Every cruise has a kitchen tour. Oftentimes is amazed by passengers.
PS: We were on Holland America's Nieuw Amsterdam, the Western Caribbean cruise recently. Cozumel, Mexico was one of the ports of the call. We attended the shore excursion to Tulum, Mexico. It's a fun day.

Përshëndetje Bulent. You got me excited when I saw Albania and then I realized it's a slight of hand from you! Just for that you need to make amends and visit Arnavutluk. Mind you our Albanian members may take it wrongly if they read that they are part of the Dalmatian coast. Who is actually cooking here? Regards. Klaudio.

Considering the circumstances, I'd say you've turned out a fine image. Much more important than the technical aspects is what you've captured as a whole anyway. This group of "chefs-to-be" is the real winner here...and although we can only see a small handful of faces, it's the visual and sentiment of being in the moment that's the most appealing. My favorite expression is the gentleman to the left, looking as if he's thinking "Oh boy, I have to work with this group?" :) Nothing like being sized up before even starting!? Nicely achieved, and always good to see pictures from, or relating to, countries not often featured on these pages. Enjoy the new day. All the best.

it is quite funny illustration to this famous saying. I like how they are all gathered around and doing no job at all :-)Well captured and nicely presented with good framing and composition.
Thanks for sharing and enjoy your Easter weekend
