Photographer’s Note

Typical coloured houses in Tirana. The picture was taken from the 11th floor of the Tirana International Hotel located at Skanderbeg Plaza.

Tirana is not a not a town with many sightseeing attractions. But three things you would like:
- on nearly every corner a cafeteria with very good espresso
- these colourful paintings on the houses which gives the capital a nice athmosphere (in the workshop a zoom to the building on the right)
- the friedly people who are always open for a small talk

Ein wirklich kunterbuntes Häusermeer mit vielen interessanten Details. Die Diagonalen der Straßenfronten wirken gut im Bild. Leider kommt das Grün offenbar zu kurz in dieser Stadt ...

Hallo Achim,
also so für das Auge gibt das Stadtbild nicht viel her, scheint aber im Detail Überraschungen zu bieten wie die UFO UNIVERSITY an der Ecke. Dafür schon eine Uni, wow! ;-)
Du zeigst uns recht treffend wie es dort aussieht. Und mit beeindruckender Schärfe und Klarheit.

A beautiful urban image, from a good POV, with many perspective and depth and a few splendid colors.
Good control of the light, and a few elegant shades that show us the relief of the buildings. The Ws is wonderful, too.
I like it, is a clean and agreeable photo.

The unusual colours of the buildings make a very attractive bird's eye view across the city; we can even glimpse a distant view of the mountains. I also like the close up in the WS

Excellent panorama view about the city Tirana, I like also of a good cup of coffee, as you in the cafetaria. Very colourful image, also a very nice sharpness and clarity of the skyscrapers. TFS.

I like your wide perspective, you have centered the interest on this coloured houses, but you have opened close-up to place the builidngs in comparison with the rest of the city.

It's a good initiative to make this city a bit brighter and more colourful. Well shown,
It will never be a beautiful city I'm afraid, like Berat or Gjirokaster are or Kruje, just 30 km to the north.

This is a spectacular "delta" shaped presentation, so colourful!

Very good POV showing the colour and density of the city sharply. Although it is nota typical older style European cityscape, it still looks like a lively place and your descriptions adds alot to the feel of the place = a good espressso makes nay day go well!

I've just read today in a newspaper that the mayor of Tirana was a paint-artist and the first thing he had done form the running-office was to colour the buildings...the old lousy communist buildings.
