Photographer's Note

Krujė is a town in north central Albania. Krujė was the epicenter of the Albanian resistance against the Ottoman Empire from 1450 until 1477. The leader of the resistance was Skanderbeg. Krujė has been besieged four times by the mighty Ottoman armies, one of them being led by Sultan Mehmed II himself. Krujė was of international importance at the time.
