Photographer's Note

The second largest coral reef in the world is located off the coast of Belize. The reef is liked by divers as one of the best diving in the world. Ambergris Caye is the largest and most developed of the 200 offshore Cayes in the country and has the best infrastructure for divers. It is the starting point for diving excursions, such as the Turneffe Islands, or the location in the center of Lighthouse Reef Great Blue Hole, an extensive underwater cave system.

And you can snorkle and the rays are coming to you catching the microorganism from the sand you've stirred up.

Hi Achim,

How you made it? Where you also in water, with the waterproof camera?? I was also in Belize on such a trip, when the big rays, small sharks and other quite big fishes came to me. It was unforgettable experience. Thanks for sharing the photo.

Hi Achim,

I do hope these snorkellers are aware of what happened to Steve Irwin! I went snorkelling at El Nido in the Philippines but didn't touch any of the fish, coral, turtles etc. Some of them sting! That said, this is superb. Good clarity considering it's taken under water. Tfs!
