Photographer’s Note
This is a shot taken on New Street looking east along a wall of the Royal Jail in Port of Spain. This is where the death penalty is carried out for Trinidad and Tobago, the gallows platform is visible from outside the prison, but when executions are scheduled a screen is erected to hide the apparatus. During my three years in Port of Spain I have never seen the screens go up!!!
