Photographer’s Note

I hadn’t planned on posting another beach shot for a while, but given the dreary weather here and having been stuck in bed with flu for the last two days, I’ve finally found the strength to switch on my computer and all I can think of is escaping from here… In the meantime I’m planning my holidays for the year and so far none of my travels involve beaches.

This is Palm Island, a private island where we set anchor for an hour or so and swam ashore for a stroll on the beach. This shot was taken from the boat. I waited for the sun to come out from behind a cloud to illuminate the sand.

'Escape' au paradis sur terre et tu as très bien choisi l'endroit dans ce cas...!
La photo est très bien réalisé, magnifique point de vue, belle qualité d'image et superbes couleurs.

Hello Susanna,
An attractive scenery is captured, in fact I would not mind spending some time on this beach right now... Outside here is snowy and quite cold!
Beautiful colours are very eye-catching, scenery is well framed and presented in a simple but attractive composition!

Beautiful peace of beach.I like composition,rule of thirds,colors.
Maybe you can just cloned out small white spot on right.(plastic bottle?)

Great luminosity and water colors here...good sharpness and framing too..i spent 4 or 5 days in 1978 there i i was on a boat with friends of the owner.. nice people that let me sleep in their house, eat drink...everything!

une véritable carte paradisiaque cette photo ! après une journée de boulot j'avoue que cela fait du bien aux yeux. La présence de ces gros nuages est un plus pour apporter du relief au paysage. Bien joué.

Ben t'es pas epargnee par les microbes, toi, bon retablissement !
J'espere que cette vue t'aidera a retrouver la sante, ca fait tres Robinson comme image mais on devine que la petite maison sur l'ile n'a rien d'une cabane... Le bourgeonnement nuageux ajoute beacoup d'interet au ciel.

Hello Susanna,
on passe de la neige aux tropiques avec toi.
Ici, le polarisant a bien agi sur les contrastes dans le ciel et sur la surface des flots.
Les couleurs sont à l'image du paysage, paradisiaques.
Simple, mais séduisant, le POV est bien choisi.

Poor you having the flu and yesterday was definitely a day for staying indoors. Yes this does help one dream of holidays being the picture-postcard type image. The contrasts are stunning and I really like those billowing clouds.
So where are you planning to go this year ?
After the beautiful beaches of Corsica last year, we're not going to have a beach holiday this year either as it'll be winter in Australia.

Un fabuleux ciel comme je les aime. Cette photo sur cette île paradisiaque est fabuleuse. Les couleurs naturelles sont extraordinaires. Ces rivages aux couleurs turquoises sont superbes. La belle lumière est fort appréciable aussi. Une très belle réalisation et merci du partage, ça fait du bien.

Hi Susanna - the shades of aquamarine in the water, and the alluring island are pretty enough, but that cloud above really wins the prize. Sorry to hear about the weather, its' warm, sunny and summerlike today in California :-)

Beautiful image .. In addition to the obvious beauty I feel this strange wonderful with the sea to the island on top .. from the sky to the cloud below ..

wonderful tones .. it is a tropical scene .. but kind of a darker moodier one.

Hi Susanna,

I've just got over the flu myself so I know how you've been feeling. That is one thing about photos, you can look at an image like this and all the memories come flooding back.

It is a wonderful idyllic scene and I certainly wish I was there right now.
