On the Jetty Photo

Photographer’s Note

The island of Petit St Vincent (or “PSV”) was so idyllic that we decided to stay another day. I had already taken several shots from this jetty the previous day but on the following morning the light was more favourable and the wispy clouds helped to make this much more pleasing shot. Directly on the horizon is the island of Petite Martinique which belongs to a different country, Grenada. I waited for a breaking wave before pressing the shutter. The red boat tied to the jetty is the same boat featured in this shot.

cette perspective est très belle . On voudrait marcher sur le ponton. Les couleiurs te la lumière sont bien maitrisées. Une très belle image.

Hi Susanna. Beautiful shot. The dock in the center mark the mouvement to background. The sky and the water are very well detailed. The read boat is interesting because is the unique colour a bit strong. I like very much in this way, but perhaps a crop at the bottom (the foreground don't gives many information) may work good. I've done a WS, I hope you like.

belle image avec des couleurs particulières et une composition assez intéressante. Je crois que je préfère le cadrage panorama proposé par Angelillo.

Tiens il me semble l'avoir deja vu qq part ce bateau... bonne perspective de part et d'autre de la jetee, c'est bien d'avoir la vague a gauche pour equilibrer, et la couleur de la mer est toujours aussi paradisiaque. Quand meme, moi perso je prefere la precedente, mais celle ci est jolie aussi.

et oui, c'est dommage de s'être ratés en Suisse, mais bon, je compte y retourner de toutes manières.
Un magnifique ciel et je devine que tu sais que je les aime.
On est sur ce ponton avec toi, tout admiratifs de ces couleurs et de cette eau d'émeraude.

Hi Susanna,

The composition with the lines of the jetty leading the eye into the horizon is very good. The image 'feels' very much Caribbeam.

I like the exposure, too. Colors and light look natural and although the sky has that 'CP feeling' the clouds came out nice.

Encore une belle image de ce coin paradisiaque. Et maintenant que la canicule est passée en Suisse, ça fait du bien de voir une photo comme celle-ci. Très bon cadrage avec la jetée qui amène notre regard au fond de l'image... et toujours ce bateau rouge qui contraste avec le turquoise de l'eau.

Well this is another delight from your recent trip, Susanna. A whopping perspective effect from the way in which you used the pier in this one, and again the other assets of the locale such as the turquoise water, fine light and good sky enhance this one. And the red boat makes a nice add again.

Very good perspective view looking down the little jetty, which seems to take us almost to the island opposite. Well timed to catch the breaking wave. The red boat is a striking contrast to the other wondeful colours.

je n'en rajoute pas quant à la magie des lieux, cette couleur d'eau, ces cieux ornés de superbes nuages. Splendide !

Hi Susanna - I love the symettry, the translucent water and the bright boat, the bottom part is just right, being picky, maybe the sky needs more contrast and less green, but should be processed separatelyin order not to change anything else.

Hi Susanna - probably the nicest place in the Caribbean, in my opinion... pretty use of this jetty in foreground, to achieve impact and depth... I like the compo esp. the red boat on the side nicely breaks symmetry... Regards, Daniel
