Photographer’s Note

A sunset view from Uaguitupo Island, San Blas Archipelago, Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Coast.

In the 1995 there were not more than 3 lodges or guesthouses at San Blas, fortunally today there are not more than 10, 12 and the most part of the tourists didd cruise in the archipelago.

The Kuna people still well preserve their islands and sea.

The San Blas Islands of Panama is an archipelago of 365 (or 378) islands off the north coast of the Isthmus, east of the Panama Canal.
Home to the Kuna Indians that are the owners of all the islands.
Politically independent, the Kuna won their right to self-government in the Kuna Revolution of 1925, an historic event that San Bias celebrates every February with the local holiday of Mor Ginnid.

The Kuna have been resisting changes to their culture since the Spanish first arrived over 500 years ago. They have actually done a pretty good job of maintaining their way of life. The San Blas province has its own government, and each island is run by a chief. Tourism is limited to only a few of the islands, and you must get permission from the chief before visiting any of the islands. Electricity and running water are not found in the outer islands.

Kuna law prohibits fishing in their waters by boats with sophisticated machinery or the taking of anything from the sea that a diver can not reach with air from his own lungs.
Scuba diving is therefore not permitted, but tourists may snorkel in the reef, one of the oldest and best preserved in the world.

el efecto de la luz y los colores en esta toma es simplemente fantástico, muy atractivo a la vista ya en la miniatura.
Me gusta cómo has gestionado esta luz difícil, y el equilibrio cromático entre los tonos dorados de la izquierda y los azules de la derecha, con la silueta negra de la casa en el agua.
Los reflejos son magníficos.
Bello trabajo, y bien escaneado también.

bella immagine ben composta con la silhouette della costruzione a contrastare il cielo e le sue sfumature mentre dall'altra parte i due gabbiani (?) volano verso il tramonto. Bello il riflesso dei colori sull'acqua che regala una atmosfera molto rilassata e piacevole.

La beauté est de ce coucher de soleil est vraiment parfaitement rendue à travers cette prise de vue.

Olá Paolo, you know more lost paradise spots on earth than anyone else! Fantastic place to spend some time meditating and forget about our stressed lifes in the city. Nice silhouetted foreground and marvellous sunset colors. I like the 2 seagulls approaching...or going away... ;-)

Beautiful scene and wonderfully captured. Good use of the hut as your silhouette ... I like the way you balanced your lighting with details still visible. One minor thing I noticed though is that the horizon is a little tilted to the left. But overall you've composed this well with good resulting image quality. Your notes are very informative too. Panama ??? Not a country featured very often, man you've been flying around quite a bit... however this could well be from your Bora-Bora honeymoon as well since it delivers exactly the same visual impression. It seels to me the horizon is leaning to the left.

Hi Paolo, great capture again with this wonderful palette the sky has offered. I think there has been noise reduction which is a little heavy, often called the "neat image look" but this in itself can often enhance the mood. Composition sits very well here. Best regards steve.

magnificent reign...beautiful work. Very fine-tuned result in the colors, love those yellows and the silhouette of the house. The texture of the water is like an oil painting...and the clouds make for a lovely background. I think the horizon is leaning towards the left slightly:-)

incontestablement le point fort de cette photo.
Opposition entre les teintes chaudes à gauche et plus froides à droite.
