Photographer’s Note

The next in a series from a hill in a rural west-Panamanian town named Mariato.

i woke up at 4:30 to climb the hill before sunrise... but as sunrises go, this one was a little disappointing, which wasn't surprising, as tropical Panama frequently is overcast at any given time of day. Clouds in the east had shifted my thoughts to looking for ideas dealing with soft light on the greens of the surrounding hills when i looked west over the Gulf of Montijo and the Pacific Ocean to see that the sun had found its way between layers of clouds to light up the western sky.
