American conection Photo

Photographer’s Note

In fact this picture was not in Bocas del Toro City. It was on the border of Costa Rica and Panamá, in Bocas del Toro state.
The conection between this two countrys are just two bridges: one for cars, that conects the trafic between North and South America. Is intersting to see that those sub-continents are so poorless conected. And this second conection is just like this....

The train do not pass here anymore and sometimes some trucks cross the bridge.
During the day, lot's of people cross this border to change products and work.
The other side of this bridge is Costa Rica. Thats why i put the original place of the photo "Panamá".

This (beautifull) bridge needs urgent maintenance and is easily seen the diference between Costa Rica and Panamá levels of maintenance...

Interesting place. Yes, one would really think that there would be better connections. I guess both countries have enough to think on their own problems. Good perspective. Man crossing the border by foot with a big sack is surprising. A bit oversharpened maybe.

Hello Jorge,
I like your photo...less "menacing" than mine (just posted). I didn't know that trains no longer run over it, but the afternoon I crossed in both directions there were MANY trucks! One SOB didn't even slow down...and forced me to run to the next "escape hatch"! Esthetically, I like your photo better.
