Photographer’s Note

13 years ago, on the wonderful Ometepe Island in the Lake of Nicaragua.
The clouds pass by my window, on the sky over the small and dirty guesthouse on the shore of one of the two volcano of the island.

Giant clouds comin' from the close Pacific Ocean and that were running to the other side, to the Atlantic Ocean.

There were nothing to do in the summeer 1995 at Ometepe.
No bars, no pubs, no restaurants, just a couple of posadas where find some strange grilled fish and a warm beer.
Strange fish 'cause the Lake of Nicaragua it was a sea, a giant lagoon, closed maybe by an earthquake. So today in the lake there are swordfish, tarpon, and sharks, including the Lake Nicaragua Shark (Carcharhinus nicaraguensis), which is fully adapted to freshwater life, and many other fishes that had a prope evolution.

Apart that, after the sunset the whole island was closed, all the people was in the bed at 7 p.m.
Nothing to do...just watch the clouds pass by my window, and read a book....maybe...but the guesthouse was without energy...just a candle!

sunsets are never too much. I really like how the heavy clouds worked in this image. They provide an interesting focal point. I also like the degradeé from the horizon to the top. This is a succesful image. Well done!

Olá Paolo,
impressioante as cores nesse belo pôr-do-sol, e o contraste com as nuvens ficou muito bom também. A qualidade ficou excelente, mesmo pra uma escaneada.

Hi Paolo, more than your picture (even if it helps a lot !!) your note made me dreamt and travel few minutes, i imagine myself there, in 95', with warm beer (the best one ;) ), and the pacific ocean, dark clouds over such a baeutiful sky, hotness and humidity, must have been a deep and intense moment, moments of love, of introspection, thanks for the moment Paolo.

Bonjour Paolo,
c'est capturé avec beaucoup de contraste et de sous-exposition je trouve. Et les couleurs ne s'en développent que bien mieux, renforçant ce dégradé de couleurs de coucher de soleil et les nuages, silhouettes précises, sont là pour habiller le firmament.
Un cadrage efficace.
