High above the smog at 1100 meters but not far away from Kingston lies Strawberry Hill, a paradise full of birds and orchids, on the southern slopes of the Blue Mountains.
Strawberry hill is a Hotel/restaurant owned by the owner of Island records. The views and food are fantastic and Bono and Mick Jagger are regular guests.

Hi Gerrit,

colorful and attractive view! I like to see all those leaves on the foreground as the invistation of what we would there there on the back. Beautiful luminosity, specially on the the banana leaves. Great work!
Regards,
Carlos

Really nice warm tones with the light in the jungle. A great picture.

Hi Gerrit,
the hanging leaves and the good light on the foreground plants are are warm and a welcome impression. Wide view on the landscape, the light was difficult I guess by the clouds.

Dag Gerrit,

The sight is very nice. Wild vegetation completes your harsh contrasted frame very well. Good POV with banana trees, very nice.

Friendly Regards,

Ertugrul

Bonsoir, cher Gerrit,
Une très belle prise de vue depuis une percée végétale. Une très belle image qui pourrait faire l'objet d'une peinture à l'huile tant la beauté de l'ensemble est présente.
Très belle réalisation.
Amitiés.
Philippe

Hi Gerrit

A superb high vantage point, with excellent sharpness & colour. Good use of the fg vegetation, as a framing device. I like the subtle sunset colours on the horizon. Tfs!

Great landscape picture. Really nice composition and fantastic colour. I think it was not so easy to capture it under this cloudy white sky. Well done
Best wishes,
Achim

Hi Gerrit,
Beautiful view captured from atop this marvelous hill looking down on the lush tropical valley. Excellent ligh really brings out the yellow and green colors.

Hi gerrit
I like this perspective on the tropical forest. You get nice colors and nice light. And also a beautifull perspective on the island
Well done
Bertrand

salut gerrit
nature luxuriante d'un pays méconnu pour moi, un POV qui donne une belle vue générale de la vallée, beau travail

My friend Gerrit,
This is totally a paradise that wonderfully captured!
a wonderful window to show the beauty of nature in good colouration, sharpness, and details
great job well done
TFS
best regards always
Tony

Gerrit,
a VERY nice composition with those plants hanging down and framing the view. The light is quite challenging and difficult to manage. It seems that the high contrast of light would be a good reason to use HDR.
Peter

Gerrit,
Very nice depth in this one !
The light you caught on the banana tree in the FG is great, and warm tones are very pleasant.
Regards,
JB.

Hi Gerrit,
Je hebt een prachtig punt gevonden met dit uitzicht over het zeer mooie landschap. Uitstekende voorgrond ook met de struiken, bomen en die hangende takken als framing. De kleuren zijn heel prettig. Mooi werk!
Groeten,
Lars

Hi Gerrit,
WOnderful sharp details, and superb colors. The sense of depth, the composition and use of light is wonderful.
Best regards. Salvator.

Hi Gerrit,
Very nice scenery.
Excellent colors, details with superb POV.
Good work.
Best regards. Uğur

Hello Gerrit,

A view that is certainly worthy of rockstars! What makes this image unique in my opinion are the hanging vines and the outline of those curled leaves. This landscape very much reminds me of the more hilly sections of Phuket. The bright colours of the banana leaves are a good contrast with the darker shadowy foliage to the left and right. Is the smog from traffic and pollution, or is it a more natural phenomenon derived from fires? I would not consider Kingston a large enough city to produce so much air pollutant? This is a great outlook, thanks for the post!

Matt

Hi Gerrit,
nice tropical vegetation with a good pov on the landscape, great effect in the top of your photo.

Nice compo to present this view, Gerrit... efficient combination of tropical vegetation and grey sky... excellent exposure, congratulations, Daniel

Hello Gerrit,
clin d'oeil sur une végétation peu répandue en Europe, je dirais même inexistante. Un ciel bien blanc et des lumières fort claires surexposant certaines zones, c'était l'occasion d'essayer un filtre P121 par exemple.

Regards.
Daniel.

Hola Gerrit.
Nice view from 1100 meters above Kingston City, a nice tropical scene captured from a high POV. Great colors and natural frame. Hope you don't mind doing some crops in a WS, as I said your shot is very good, it's just to see how it looks cropping half of the left tree and the baranda below
Well done.
TFS.
Best regards.
