Photographer’s Note

Saint Thomas is the parish that is the least by tourists visited. It is situated in the southeast corner of the country. The western and northern parts are rich in natural beauty forming the foothills of the majestic Blue Mountains. The southcoast is rather dull but the eatcoast is hilly and full of beautiful little unspoiled beaches. In the southeast corner are enormous sugercane fields.

Nice shot of the daily life of Jamaica, with this farmer on the tractor at work. I like the way you used the sign on the right to give this a sense of place too, which works very well in this case. Well done!

What good graphism you have obtained in this composition, only with the tractor working at the sugar cane fields and the green traffic signal.
The sky with the clouds is a good complement that adds beauty to the photo, which has a great light and a few beautiful colors.

For sure, Jamaica is a beautiful country to go! here I like the light illuminating nicely the canes on the right and the well placed tractor with the driver. The combination of the blue of the sky with clouds is also nice.

Dag, Gerrit. Het groen dat in het onderste deel bijna overal aanwezig is komt goed uit op de lucht en toont ons dat dit een landbouwstreek is. De tractor is goed geplaatst in de compositie en je kan de glimlach op het gezicht van de bestuurder zien. Mooie lucht en goede diagonale lijnen aan de linkerkant.

Dit moet schitterend zijn met de fiets door dit ruige landschap, en dan een trekker tegenkomen met suikerriet geladen.
Volgens mijn inschatting zijn ge aanwijzingsborden ook niet zoals in Nederland en België.
Een daily life foto met goede kleuren en een goede samenstelling.

Gerrit,
a nice action and journalistic shot from the sugar land Jamaica. Nature's green is doubled with the dark green painted wagon carrying all the sugar cane and the street sign that gives us clear directions and information were you have been. Two things that would improve the shot are: the use of a polarizing filter and the cloning of the power lines.

Hi Gerrit, I believe this wonderful photo has many merits, first "a great TE shot" (= learning about the world, and not just the famous sights), then the great colors, and the 3-d fantastic feeling in the tractor... also the great expression of the driver, he looks like smiling... then the compo with the old sign on the side is very clever... and you luckily had a great busy sky... congratulations, well done!
