Photographer’s Note

Yesterday Usain Bolt was named the 2009 Laureus World Sportsman of the Year. It seems appropriate to post a photo of some of thousands of boys to whom he is a role model.
I happened to go to Devon House when a primary school football tournament was taking place. I tried hard to take some pictures unobtrusively and was successful in the image I posted a week ago -- on June 6. Here, however, the boys saw me and immediately went into Usain Bolt victory poses. The first dramatic and heartfelt display was fun but happened so fast that I didn't get a good shot -- I post it as a WS. I had to ask the boys for a repeat performance, which of course lacked some of the spontaneity of the first.

Molto molto carini questi ragazzi che hanno voglia di giocare e di farsi fotografare! Simpatica la loro posa, belli i colori dei loro vestiti ed in generale quelli della foto, mi piace la luce sui loro volti filtrata fra gli alberi.
