Photographer’s Note

This is Ras Solomon Jackson, better known as Mokko.
In his Roots Rasta Yard he has build some wooden rooms and a decent shower and toilet. You can sleep there for just a few dollars per night. He also cooks on his wood fire in the kitchen of his yard an Ital meal.
He lives in Sunninghill, a little village in Saint Thomas , 5km north of Morant Bay on the riverside and right under the slopes of the Blue Mountains.

The typical Rasta colours stand out from the image. We can even see them reflected in his sunglasses. He doesn't look as happy as your previous subject, but it's a good portrait nonetheless.

I do remember of Mokko, but more smiling ;)
Although there is no direct sunlight on him, he stands out well against the wooden fence! The RGY colors are an eye catcher!

that's one cool dude... what a character :)) your model is fantastic, but not so sure about those tree trunks on the left: i feel those are a bit distracting here. maybe a vertical crop is something that might be considered here?

Quand l'on voit ce genre de portrait, cela évoque la musique jamaïcaine, les rythmes du reggae apparaissent presque comme une réaction naturelle.
Les couleurs ressortent à merveille.

A well exposed shot of the fellow. The contrasty light has created some blown out ares where the sun hits but the main subject is exposed properly. I like the colours of his necktie and hat. Very well done inspite of the difficult lighting situation.

belle photo de ce portrait de Jamaicain typique comme on se le représente chez nous.
Il n' a pas l' air de bonne et vous avez peut etre pris des risques en le photographiant.
Belle prise bien nette, les couleurs sont jolies et attire le regard.

It really looks like a good chap, although he doesn't look so happy here. A great portrait, with the vibrant colours of the big funny, typical rasta, hat making it very eye catching.
