The roads in Jamaica are ingeneral far better than in other countries in the region that I've visited on bicycle, like Guatemala and the Dominican Republic.
But there are still some adventurous parts tot ride like the road underneath the southern slopes of thwe Blue Mountains. Here you see a part of that road between Mavis Bank and Hagley Gap, where the road is sometimes unpaved, crossing rivers or just devasteated like here.

Hello Gerrit,
Rather you than me, that's all I can say :-) Very good capture of this rather battered road. Very pleasing light and shadow contrasts and good colours. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Gerrit ,
A very interesting picture . Under the tropics , life is not allways easy . Very good composition and strong colors .
Regards
Denis

Evidently you wouldn't want to drive a car on this road. :D You have used the road well as lead-in and including your companions emphasises that and draws us right into the image. The wide V at the top of the image is also an important feature of the scene. Well done
Kath

Hello Gerrit,
an unusual scene from a very beautiful part of the world. The route looks quite precarious!
A good shot of everyday life.
Lovely bright colours,tfs.
Regards Jean.

Gerrit,
rocky road? What road? It seems to me that a major storm washed most of it away as well as the tilted house in the left background. good that your trip was on a bicycle and not with a car.
Peter

Gerrit,
Nice catch from this damaged road.
I like too your informative note, a very good post.
Regards,
JB.

Hello Gerrit,

Seems the owner of next house is in trouble. I think this is common problems in that area after giving damage to the nature or building house without giving more attention. You perfectly captured a dangerous pass in very good lights and colors. Congratulations.

Best Regards,

Ertugrul

Hi Gerrit,
Wonderful capture of this crumbling road. It is clear to see the damage is due to high waters. Great details and colors with a very informative note.

Hi Gerrit,
This road doesn't look very safe! Quite a broken one... the house looks like it is going to fall at any time and seems in a terrible condition too! .
Nicce light, colors and contrast level and sharp details too...
An interesting picture!
Greetings
LAurent

Hi Gerrit,
Roads ... Ok ! Very interesting details in this beautiful composition. Very good colours and light. I like your POV
Have a nice day

Hi Gerrit,
In most cases the presence of overhanging electrical wires puts me off ... however, you've managed to use them to your advantage here ... it creates a nice leading line. The road looks badly eroded ... just as well you were traveling by bike. Nice country side scenery. Well captured and composed ... I like the inclusion of the cyclist as it gave dynamism to the scene. Well done! tfs
Cheers,
Renier

hi Gerrit

Quite a similar scene to Malaysia's rural countryside. I like your pov showing the road collapse and tilt of house. Interesting note

bill

Hello Gerrit,
Superb not very common image of a landscape subjected to the climatic risks. I like the fidelity of the very natural and true scene. An image of adventurer for adventurers.
Have a nice day

Dag, Gerrit.

Hi Gerrit,
I do like the way your combined the beauty of the island with information about the world. That cloud-filled V of the sky is beautiful while the cyclists and the broken road & house make the photo much more interesting and informative.

Hola Gerrit.
Excellent series of your trip to Jamaica, this is a very good daily life shot with the bicyclist going through this damaged road as nothing is happening, the house on the left is almost falling into the cliff, your POV is good and colors contrast are great.
Well done. TFS.
Best regards.

Bonjour Gerrit,
Best regards.
Daniel.

Hi Gerrit,

Good shot that says about the life there..
Fine tones and the moods of life exist in frame.
BEAUTIFULL.
All the best.

What a desaster, but a very attractive shot. Excellent capture of this wonderful landscape. Excellent done!

Dag Gerrit,

Zeer goed gedaan. Bedankt.

Prettig weekend,
John.

Hello Gerrit,
Oh a very dangerous road as i see and only with bicycle, you can cross it.I imagine how is the condition of the roads of Guatemala and the Dominican Republic.A nice reportage photo with the existence of the cyclists to add life in the shot.Informative your note too.

Regards,Danos

Hello Gerrit,
This countryside road seems to have been exposed to tropical downpour!
Going by two wheeler seems to be the wise thing to do here...
Good photo documentary, rich colours and sharp fine details!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Gerrit - Excellent compo, nice exposure and efficient POV to present this spot. You included a glimpse of daily life too, and that's good. Regards, Daniel

salut gerrit

Have a nice day for you

Hi Gerrit,
very interesting place and road, dangerous! Great colors in image too.
Congratulations and Hug!

Hi Gerrit,
Impressive this road!! Caught well in your photo, it seems to have suffered a natural catastrophe, as a hurricane or strong rains.
To travel hereabouts with your bicycle had to be a great adventure.
Good work, interesting and executed well.
Friendly regards,
Josep

Ola Gerrit,

Groetjes
Wanda

Hello Gerrit,
This travel photo of yours includes a wealth of information about traveling off the main roads of Jamaica. Too many photographers concentrate too much on the technical details and not enough about what the photograph is trying to convey. This is a very good travel photograph and I have no illusions about how trecherous off the main road traveling in this poor country can be. I would not want to get too close to the embankments of this road! Good job!
Stan

Hi Gerrit,
Impressive road, well with a cyclist, well done.

Hi Gerrit
Excellent capture. The road looks perfect for biking ;). Have you ridden there on a bike? Lovely colours and perspective.
Straight to my favourites.

Hi Gerrit,
in a rainy day it would give a little fear to happen through that old street; -)
Excellent explosion of the nature with green tonalities that are fantastic and the brightness generalized in all the photography.

Jordi
