On some days the colour of the water around the cays would take on an emerald glow and look quite magical. Often this would be right before a squall came over the islands. On many occasions, just before the weather would whip up to a storm, the sea would go flat calm and be quite surreal.

Here you can see a fisherman cooling off in the calm, quiet sea with the cays in the background. If you look carefully you can see two boats... there is one on the horizon just above the man in the water coming back from sea to the cays situated in the right of the picture.

Bows On, Bows On, Bows On!!

That's what the fishermen shout out when they see boats coming in from a far. Often this means that food and supplies coming from the mainland will soon reach them. In this case probably just fish and lobster - the boat wasn't coming from the right direction for it to be coming from land, it was probably a fishing boat coming in before the squall..

Yet 'Bows On' they still shout!

Hey Casper,

A beautiful composition, great colors, very well defined clouds, sort of an ominous feeling of a coming storm. Done very nicely.

Enjoy.

Fantastic colors but nay! the composition could have been better...the placement of the man & the boat seems to have been a random shot...

Hello Casper
Fantastic colours you have captured. It's also a well balanced composition with a yellowish foreground, a green section and the remarkable cloudy sky. The enclosure of the fisherman and his boat are of course essential to the composition.
Best wishes,
Gert

Hi Casper,

Wonderful yellow tones of wet sand part and green of sea is creates a great contrasts. I like dark sky a lot too but most important part is adding fisherman and his boat to your scene.

Friendly Regards,

Hi Casper
What a fantastic place. Been there only once. I love the general colour and tones of this shot. The contrast between the turquoise sea and the gray clouds is stunning. I don't mind the composition and it's certainly adequate. Nice work.

Perhaps a little lack of sharpness, but I like a lot the color of the sea on this very yellow beach.

All the best,

Emmanuel
