Photographer’s Note

Devon House is a favorite destination for days out in Kingston. People come to enjoy the extensive, beautiful grounds, gardens, craft shops, restaurants, pastry shop and perhaps most of all the famous ice cream.

One of these days, I'll post an image of the excellently preserved 1881 mansion, built by George Steibel, a Jamaican who became one of the first black millionaires in the Caribbean. However I couldn't possibly do better than Gerrit (2008 02 28).

A scene of everyday's life very well collected. The vegetal framing is very nice. The nunaces on the green color are too well collected. An image full of serenity.
