Colorful Old Harbour Bay Photo

Photographer’s Note

Old Harbour Bay is a fishing village on the southcoast of Jamaica.
You can reach it by turning off from the highway that leads from Mandeville to Kingston and that runs through Old Harbour. After 10 km you will reach the isolated and completely non touristic village where the activity on the beach has his own pace for man and pelican.

Hello Gerrit,
A colourful and tropical scene nicely presented. Very good point of view with the people chatting in the foreground and the repeating motifs of the fishing boats disappearing into the distance around the curving shoreline. Very good sharpness throughout.

A colourful shot of this slice of life. It depicts what most of us think about Jamaica and surrounding islands. Life is pretty lay back. The horizontal line is indicative of calmness and there are lots of horizontal lines in the boats all around the bay.

The relaxed pace of life is very evident here with everyone enjoying the moment. The brightly coloured boats are wonderful for a vibrant image. I might consider cropping some sky to return the proportions to the usual 35mm. Well captured moment in time.

Another really nice daily life shot, I find it more interesting and harder to composed that a landscape that doesn't move, where here your subject is on a constant move and to make it interesting you have to be quick when the time is right. Anyway, I really enjoy it, the colors maybe a little on the intense in saturation but that is my personal preference. A nice shot. I enjoyed it.
