North of Tegucigalpa Photo

Photographer’s Note

A view of Pulhapanzak falls, in the north-central Honduras, close to the Yojoa Lake, 4 hours by car from Copan Ruinas or from San Pedro Sula.
The falls are 43 meters high, along the Rio Lindo.
This is a view just of the upper part of the falls, with a small rainbow.
The closest village was San Buenaventura, or something of similar.
12 years ago that beautiful falls weren't so touristic as today, the entrace was free and all around there were just jungle and no other.

We spent more than 3 weeks in Honduras, a wonderful country, that at those time was a little bit dangerous.

We crossed the border by foot from Nicaragua, at Guasaule border, close to the Pacific Ocean, then we visisted Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, La Ceiba, Tela, the three Islas de la Bahia, then back to the coast to Trujillo, back to San Pedro Sula, then Lake Yojoa, Pulhapanzak Falls, and finally Copan Ruinas.
After Honduras we went to the Aduana El Florìdo, close to Agua Caliente to visit Guatemala.

All that by public bus, From Panama City to Guatemala City in less than 2 months.

Hi Paolo - beautiful place and the scan quality is incredible, did you get a new scanner?, this could have been taken with a digital camera yesterday. It sounds like an interesting trip, I want to do the same, only in 3 weeks instead of 2 months, but I don't like tropical heat very much.

Veramente grande Paolo, mi tornano in mente alcuni film ambientati in questa natura superba, complimenti, anche se da scan la foto è ottima e la mano si vede bene, bella composizione con la cascata e làarcobaleno a corredo, bravo.

Nice work here, The composition is great, holding just a touch of the rainbow at the bottom, and also using the silhouetted foreground to show depth, give a feeling of height, and also to retain a feeling of mystery. The exposure time was perfect, holding the fall silky, but not overdoing it.

Bonjour Paolo,
c'est toujours grandiose de capturer des arcs-en-ciel. Pourrais-je te suggérer de les polariser, cela donne des résultats surprenants, je l'ai fait pour quelques unes de mes photos de 'rainbow' postées sur TE.
Un super POV accompagné d'un tout bon cadrage, on ajoute la netteté, la beauté des couleurs et c'est nickel.

Non posso non ripiegare su questa bellissima immagine di natura pura. E poi la qualità dello scanning è impressionante. Il gioco di luci e ombre è fantastico e i colori (il verde) sono molto vivi e per nulla sbiaditi. Il tocco magico, ovviamente è dato dal bellissimo arcobaleno. Un vero paradiso, complimenti Paolo!

the fall is stunning with all the different textures .. the way everything sits in the frame is perfect and seems so effortless ..

questo tuo scatto si trova ora in home page.
Prendo al volo l'occasione per commentarlo, anche perchè mi piace molto.
Da un ottimo pov, con la parte in ombra in primo piano che si bilancia con la parte verde in piena esposizione, hai catturato una bella foto di viaggio, con tanto di arcobaleno per ravvivare la scala cromatica.
Molto bravo.
