Photographer’s Note
This is a view of West End beach on the Roatan Island. The Bay Islands were first discovered by Cristoforo Colombo on his fourth voyage to America in 1502. They were later claimed, and successively held, by Great Britain, Spain, and the Dutch United Provinces. Britain finally took control in 1643 and, with the exception of a one-month period of Spanish dominance in 1780, held onto them as a Crown colony, dependent on Jamaica. In 1860, in the aftermath of the William Walker filibustering affair, the British crown recognized Honduran sovereignty and ceded possession of them. The department of Islas de la Bahía was officially incorporated into the nation on 14 March 1872. The English language is still the main language on the islands, contrary to the Spanish language of mainland Honduras. Roatán, located between the islands of Utila and Guanaja, is the largest of Honduras' Bay Islands. It is approximately 60 kilometres long, and less than 8 kilometres wide at its widest point. The capital and most populated town is Coxen Hole, located in the Southwest of the island. Other important towns include French Harbor and Oak Ridge. Located near the largest barrier reef in the Caribbean Sea (second largest worldwide after Australia's Great Barrier Reef), it has become an important cruising and diving destination in Honduras. Tourism is its most important economic sector, though fishing is also an important source of income for islanders.

Color of the water is great, and the mood of the shot (probably due to scanning) seems like a Technicolor postcard. Could probably spice it up a bit with some saturation PP, but really nice anyways!

this wonderful clear water makes me want to dive in immediately !
I like the way you have composed this image with plenty of space for the water, and the people look like ants.

Bonjourno Paolo
You have found paradise? I like the turquoise color of the water, & good depth, enhanced by the diagonal shoreline. Good sharpness & lighting. Bellisimo!

Wonderful colours, Paolo - I just love these places where the water is this glorious aquamarine colour. Good composition too. You have a bit of noise in the photograph - no doubt due to the scanning - have you tried using software like Neat Image to remove the noise? I have found it works very well on scanned prints. Cheers . . . David

Great shot, Paolo !
Wonderful color of the water and texture due to small roughness of the sea.
Good POV.

Magnificent view. Today I went to beach and was quite happy about it but after seeing this paradise… Thanks for ruining my day… ;-)
Although the image suffers a bit from the scanning, it’s still very attractive and the water color as well the ripples and great. Very nice cloudy sky and a good positioning of the horizon, taking advantage of the large foreground.

Hello Paolo,
The best green I have seen so far, when we talk about the color of the sea. I would have said " Too much sea " but here the green makes it all and there's nothing we can crop from the bottom. Good shot ! Ciao !Izzet
