Photographer’s Note
This shoemender is a bit particular because he is a salvarorian refugee in Honduras trying to stay worthy by the work.
For south american people who are a bit "macho" this is very important, the chief of family must "feed" the family.
assitance is wellcome,of course, but in this camp, everybody tried the best to assume theimselves.
Like in many countries in the world, soles are made of old pneumatics..

A great portrait of a hardworking man. I like the tones, contrast and last but not least the motion of the right hand.

Hi,
wonderful B&W portrait. I like the movement of the right hand while the rest of the picture seems like a still life. Even the little noise intensifies the overall impression.
Good contrast, sharpness and DOF.

Hi Patrick...I think I could tell from the pants (even in Honduras) that this shot is a good 20 yrs old!
It's held up nicely I think and is a very good environmental portrait of this cobbler. The motion blur is nice as it captures him in the act. Too bad the angle was such that the shoe is not clearly visible but it really doesn't matter too much I don't think
Cheers

Bon travail.

I like these men at work shots, and here the motion blur really adds to the image.
