I woke up early one rainy morning and went outside to take pictures of the fog and clouds on the mountains. Bad weather is always good for taking great photographs. I was carrying both my Mamiya 645's and my digital camera when I started to follow four kids walking in the mud.
These four kids started running and playing in the rain. I took several Black & White photographs of them playing with a ball that they had just found. Later I met them again taking shelter from the hard rain. When the rain stopped for a brief moment I walked up to them and told them to get together for a photograph. They were so happy to pose for me. They were curious as to why I was using two cameras to photograph them.
I was born in Honduras but at the age of seven I was taken to New York city for a better life. It was my first trip back in over 33 years. One of the memories that I always had of my childhood was of other kids running around nude or in their underwear. I was both happy and sad that my country has never changed in all these years.
