[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Traveling overland from Pto Lempira to Leimus, we traveled with this man who ran a small business with a couple of vehicles and a couple of sons to drive them. Today being a light load, we took the pickup, instead of the Izuzu flatbed six-wheeler. I was glad for this, the suspension on this HiLux was stiff enough after the 4.5hr journey.

It was a nice setup (by third world standards of course). Two men, two women, and three children up front; four men, one woman, and a child in the back on the thinly padded bench seats. But there was a canopy to protect against the sun and relatively little dust.

Ah yes, the entire road was dry except for this one spot, where coming around the corner the driver chose the wrong path. In all fairness, he was not a very mechanically inclined driver either, and virtually trashed his clutch getting out of the mud. We limped into Leimus, but I seriously doubt he made it the 4-5 hours back to Pto. Lempira.

The scenery was absolutly gorgeous, open prairie at first, blending to mixed prairie and pine stands, to at last being solid pine forest. No underbrush, the locals burn yearly during the dry season which keeps the forest floor clean (not to mention kills all the pine saplings, explaining why all the trees look the same age).

Wow talk about being stuck in the mud. I don't see any winch either on the front. How did he get out afterall? Your750UZ caught a nice photo here too. Nice and sharp. There is a song that starts.."Stuck in the Middle with you"..comes to mind.

It's great to experience all sorts of things and what makes this photo great is the life of it - the colors come out and you can see the driver. While most places I wish I could be there, I wouldn't want to be in this guy's seat.
