The mother with a small smile on her lips, and the child looking very strong to the photographer.
The red flowers on her clothing together with the yellow headscarf gives a nice contrast on her complexion. Very well composition.

Hallo Achim,
das ist einfach nicht leicht darzustellen, ohne zumindest in unseren Augen gleich zu irgendwelchen Handlungen aufzufordern. Erst mit der Distanz klappt es dann, wenn die anderen diese Bilder sehen. Das Doppelportrait ist gelungen, sehr gut wie Licht und Schatten auf der Haut spielen. Ihr Gesichtsausdruck sorgt dafür, dass der Hintergrund der Aufnahme nicht in Vergessenheit gerät.

La mère est bien éclairée et se trouve très expressive. Dommage que l'enfant n'ait pas la même lumière. Mais l'ensemble est excellent. Le portrait est un art très difficile et celui-ci est une réussite.

I am always interestd to know about Haiti, as the state of the country worries me! I so much wish they could get out of the vicious circle they are in!
Anyway, your woman and child are comforting, they seem happy enough, and not underfed, so at least, it's something!
