Photographer’s Note
Despite my initial concerns about safety in Haiti - it turned out to be a fantastic stop. Very relaxed - one of the nicest places I've ever visited in the Caribbean. I liked this shot as it shows how undeveloped the area is and how out of place the Ship was. Highly recommended spot if you ever have the chance.

I really like the perspective, with the overhanging trees, the people reading in the shadows, the mirrorlike water, a real air of tranquillity. And the line of jet skis nicely breaks the otherwise slightly boring frontal view of the ship, nice! Just a question, you write Labadee Island, did you arrive by ship, and did they tell you on board it was a little island?

The reason there was no safety concerns was because this isn't the real Haiti.
you only visited the walled-off section for tourists.
Haitians aren't even allowed in this section of their country.
It is a nice shot though.
