In Haiti, little children at the age of five already have to participate in work for the family. Such work includes scraping out gourdes in the water, fetching water and wood, and of course taking care for even littler family members.
That is why Haitian children often have that grown-up look of worry and sincerity in their faces, despite their beauty.
