Sans Souci Palace in Milot, or what's left of it. It was built by King Christophe, at the expense of the sweat and toil of many workers, just a couple of years after Haiti had liberated itself from slavery and colonisation. Haiti was the second country to liberate itself from colonisation, after the US, and the first succesfull slave rebellion, but it has not had much luck with its leaders as an independent country. Roi Christophe was just one of the first of many dictators.

Pretty composition. The remainders of this castle are imposing and give an idea of the size of this construction. Unfortunately this country did not succeed in being left its political problems and misery always reigns as a Master. Good idea to show this and notes interesting.
Have a good day

Hallo Frans. I was not yet in Haiti and have therefore none concretely conception how it looks there. However I assumed no building there, how you illustrated it. An interesting and worth seeing photo. Best regards, Wolfgang.
