Like so many side alleys, this one held a little surprise as I passed it. The word "Artiste" with the last two letters on the other side of the shutter made it look like a metaphor to me when a saw the little boy with his kite.

Hi Helmut!
Once again a great photo! Very dramatic scene, striking metaphore...This little boy seems to be very self confident, for him there is no doubt about this affirmative inscription: Art is! I like the contrast between this strong affirmation and the environment around which is unstable (and everything except art!)...everything seems to collapse, except these two striking words!

Wow, this composition and subject matter is incredible. I love the POV and the black and white emphasizes the solemn and striking mood of the photo. This is really amazing, I have heard of the destitute poverty in Haiti before, but photos like this really hit you mentally and emotionally. Thankyou for sharing! -Lara

Greetings,

Brilliant documentary shot of the abject living conditions of most of the haitian population. I also love the texture and grainyness of your pic. The title take on the graffiti is really clever. Thought provoking.

Congratulations,
Cristian

Una gran foto con mucha fuerza. El blaco y negro perfecto. La escena y el gesto del niņo encantadores.
Un saludo: Javi

This image has such a fantastic feel to it. A truly wonderful capture. The wall surfaces and general decay in the scene are both visually exciting, and emotionally disturbing (you can feel the poverty in this picture). The boys expression is wonderfull too.
First class document of this situation!

wow, that is an amazing shot.
