New series: My Oh Maya.
In addition to a new lens, I have recently indebted myself with the purchase of a good film scanner. With this time machine, we can now travel into the past to the dim and mystical era before the advent of photos made from ones and ohs.
To begin, we will journey through the mesoamerican world of the Maya.
First stop, Chichicastenago. The restaurant of three Maya Quiché sisters. We were involved in a day-long haggling session over a matrimonial huipíl. During that time, we learned all about making tortillas and conjuring up sopas.
The posting of this photo is inspired by the irrepresible George Grabarczyk who recently shared with us This Photo.
George can take the heat, so he stays in the kitchen. This is dedicated to him and all others who admire soulful woman and the soulful food they create. |

Hi, Hugh.
I knew this one was for George before I open the file ;).
Interesting one, no doubt, in a little different way from the George photo.
Best regards. Grazyna.
Even she wants to taste...means I have a good excuse now ,trying to guess the taste :)Yammmy
Her expression deserves 10 smiles
Good dedication for George

What !!!
Another Cinderella ???
This time in the land of Mayas ...!!!
Amazingly quick was your response upon my post, and as good (if not better than mine...).
The steam is there (IT MUST BE !), the shiny skins from heat, the faces trying to tame the fun they have with that weird guy holding the camera in his hands...
I know that so welll...
Stay cool, Hugh...
I need ya !!
G.
No ugly sisters this time! You can almost feel the smile struggling to burst out on her face. Full of interesting detail. And a nice follow on from Georges' offering. Best regards, Roberto
