Photographer’s Note

Today a daily life scene from Guatemalean town of Chichicastenango. Chichi is well known for a market that is held there every Thursday and Sunday - the biggest and most colorful one in whole Guatemala. The market is a major event for all the people from surrounding towns and villages. These three women we found down a side street from the market - obviously they were having a short break from all the hassle.

The colorful place you can see in the backgound is a graveyard - yes, in Guatemala even they are full of colors. You'll find out more in my next post.

Hey Michal,
I like this one alot; and what intrigues me the most, is the colorful graveyard in the background. Who would thought that a cemetery could actully look so cheerful! --almost inviting. Unlike my cheeful casket! remember? ;)
