Photographer's Note
Another shot from Guatemala to the gallery. This one was taken at Santiago Atitlan, after crossing the lake on a boat for a day visit to that village.
There was Maximon, a representative mixture of the maya and catholic believes.
Maximon is kept by a different family every year, and people from the village comes to see him and made him offerings - corn, money, drink, etc... Once a year Maximon goes out from its home during Easter in a procession.
If you want to meet a guide, he probably find you before you have put your feet out of the boat, and he will take you to see Maximon - who will be pleased to allow you to take some photos for a little tip.
