It was a rainy week. Early in the morning I would try to get a clear view of Volcán Atlitlan and on my last I got this picture. This photo was taken from the shores of Panajachel where boats can be hired to criss cross the lake to smaller places. The lake suffers from pollution and though very clear water can be seen most of the time, floating plastic bits and pieces of garbage are everywhere. After a while I forgot about it and enjoyed the beautiful green mountains along the lake. This place was the highlight of my trip to Guatemala - I didn't go to Tikal. With all the major problems they have, it's quite surprising how nice people were; truly.
