Photographer's Note

The Republic of Guatemala is a republicanism state located in northern Central America. Physiographically, the Republic of Guatemala touches the border to Mexico at north, Belize to northeast, Honduras at east, and has touched El Salvador and at southeast. And, northeast faces the Caribbean Sea and south faces the Pacific Ocean. A capital is Guatemala city. Mayan civilization prospers at a point Columbus term, and the national majority is Indigenous peoples of the Maya. The powerful dynasty associated with Teotihuacan in Mexico was built in Tikal in 378, and it continued at the classic term until it was conquered by Spanish people. When Christopher Columbus discovered the U.S. continent in 1492, the European conqueror visited also in the area equivalent to present Guatemala. The conqueror of the Spanish who appeared in 1523 conquered this area in 1524. In 1544, Spain set the Guatemala inspector general territory and granted autonomy. After independence from Spain in 1821, Guatemala was a part of the Federal Republic of Central America. The history after the Guatemala founding of the country is colored a revolution, a coup d'etat, a non-democracy government, especially various interference in domestic affairs from the United States of America. This photograph is an open space(square) located in the city center. Catholic's cathedral is seen1 in back. Many merchants put in order and sold clothing, miscellaneous goods, a race handicraft, etc. at the open space to the ground.
