Photographer’s Note
Antigua had been planed to be the capital of Guatemala. Many palaces, covents and churches were built in the 1500's, 1600's.
In the following years, several important seisms happened, most of monuments were destroyed, and the city was forsaken for many years. The capital is now Guatemala City, and Antigua is a quiet, restful city, with very interesting, impressive ruins.
