Hi Steve,
There's a lot to like about this capture.
First, the dappled light looks fantastic, the combination of light and shade gives the image so much depth, next, the interaction between the girls is wonderful, I like the way the two girls in front are chatting away to each other while the girls at the back seem to be concentrating on just staying on the jetty.
You are right about the Sunday best, they are wearing their finest clothes, the sarongs are beautiful.
This is one of those daily life captures that really show the culture and the way of life.
A very high quality image, the sharps, exposure and composition combine to make an excellent capture, congratulations.
Regards
Peter

Hello Steve, You are turning out some really good quality scanned images these day, this one is a good example, the colours look very natural, good exposure & clarity. These women look fantastic in their traditional clothes, I wonder if they are on their way to church or a similar place of worship. I like the interaction between the front, as Peter said having a good old chat, with the other two it looks more like a balancing act.
Cheers
Santo
