Every may I try to make it to the festival of the palms and the flowers, that's were I met this lovely lady. She was a little camera shy but I managed to get this picture in front of the little palm I decorated myself with the help of others.. those are fresh flowers that get inserted into the veins of palm leaves, which are used in a procession in honor of the virgin Mary!!

Her image is perfect and she has a lot of interesting charcteristics (Wrinkles, colored cloth), I think that the flowers in the background on her laft (right of the image) are disturbing and with bright homogenous color it would have brought her image's details out even more!

What a great moment to capture and great expression. She was obviously aware of you photographing her. If you shot her more from the front, you might have got some highlights in her eyes. Also, her face has a bit of a red cast, which could be adjusted by reducing the red and increasing the yellow. But her expression is priceless. Do some more like this at the next festival.

hey, may i know how old is the mama?

Hola Geraldina,

Me gusta mucho esta foto, lograste una bella expresion en la sennora. Un retrato muy bien logrado.

Saludes,
Iris

It's a lovely picture !! The obvious shyness is counterd by the broad wrinkly smile, the towel adds some more (other) color in an otherwise brown-red-white composition.
well done

I absolutely LOVE this picture....texture catches my eye before anything else and her skin is so beautiful to me. There's something about capturing the elderly, especially in a moment of joy like this seems to convey. Great job! Good workshop, too...

wonderfull, nice colors, grate details

¡Ella me recuerda de mi abuela! ¡Es un retrato muy agradable! ¡Soy feliz que usted pueda asistir una fiesta de El Salvador!
Buena suerte ~ Theresa

She is beautiful and you capture the sweetness of a young girl in this abuelita--perhaps as sweet as the flower she smells.

I was wondering if you would consider uploading this image into the wikipedia section of El Salvador, under culture. The page desperate lacks some good photos and I think your Panchimalco addition would be a wonderful asset.

realy good picture ,loved it.. (woman of the world)
you should try Blue channel edit , can be great.

what a beautiful and wise person, they look like they have laughed and cried many times in there time on earth, knowing that in the end all of it means very little as we all come to the same resting place. its a very symbolic pose as they smell the flower, very poetic. the colours compliment the mood too.

Hi!
