| It's a shame to see what could be a beautiful municipal beach languish under all this detritus. Young boys wander about offering to shine your shoes: one dollar, or sell you a shell: one dollar, or feed their mother: one dollar; your pick, everything is one dollar! Why can't the town hire some of these boys to clean up these shores whenever necessary? How much could that possibly cost? |

And when they're done cleaning the beach they can work on all of those pot holes in the street.....
This seems very logical to you and I but that's simply not the mindset here. Nice photo. You capture the reality very well.

Hi Serge,
We tend to overlook the ugly aspects of underdeveloped countries like DR, where one finds easily garbage and extreme poverty in scenic places like this could be if it was better cared. You did a good compo, although I would prefer that the boat of the FG wasn't cropped.
