The Guatamalen competitor walks his boat into the days sailing at the 2003 Pan American Games held in Dominican Republic last summer.
The games might be likened to a regional Olympic games and is an important part of all Olympians training and selection process.
Similar events are held globally (African Games, Commonwealthe games and Asain Games) and are run under the auspices of the International Olympic Commitee.
