First morning in the Dominican Republic, I couldn't sleep and got up at six. The sun was about to rise and I abolutely wanted to see the front wall of the Colonial building we discovered the previous evening when having our diner.
So, I picked up my camera, checked the battery was ok and ran away from our nice pension. I walked through the magnificiant buildings of the early 16th century (monastery, cathedrals, churchs everywhere...). I hardly saw anyone in these great historic streets compared to the previous evening : few haitians carrying their heavy loads of food or rubbish. One guy yeld me if I wanted anything like Marijuana or Coke... No, just some shots :)
When the sun was about to illuminate the buildings of the "Zona Coloniale", I was close from two major buildings : El Alcazar de Colon (palace built in 1510 by Diego Colon, son of Christophe) and the Museo de Las Casas Reales.
I made several shots of the this last building, especially because of the really nice reflections of the sun on the windows. It was built from early 1500's up to 1520 and it was where the highest administrative Justice Court of the New World took place. It ruled the Justice courts of the whole continent for several years.
Today, it's a museum presenting many artifacts from the sunk vessels in Dominican waters and reminding us the rich History of this small country which had a central place in the discovery of the New World by the Europeans.
Original framing, I saturated the colors and adjusted the sharpeness a little bit. I had a lot of difficulties to keep the picture under 200ko so it is not as satisfactory as I wanted...

Nicely framed picture with beautiful colors. Still I look for a surprising detail that takes it a bit further...
