Photographer’s Note
One more for my map here. Again scanned, but this time better I think. When I visit other countries I always try to see the beach and the country ;-)
Here we were on a trip from Punta Cana to Santo Domingo and back. We traveled exactly with a bus like the one in the picture. On our way the driver stopped right there and we all wondered if he would take the brake to wash his bus too as he kind of parked in line.
I also like the advertising for Rum under the bridge. I have to admit their Rum is very tasty and you don't have bad feelings drinking it there, as the dominicans always say it is "Vitamina" :)
Post Processing: I cropped a little from the bottom, then run autolevels (colour/contrast), a contrast masking, unsharp mask and finally the framing in PS6.

Jan morning! Good daily life picture! I like all the different colors/details in your picture. There is dept. A good detail is the Coca Cola sign. Personally i don;t like the shadow..But whe can't control the sun. Well done Jan.

I like very much the way the dark areas merge with the frame, and the long shadows of the trees. The dark bridge is also very effective, where we can see only it's fence. I love the contrast here. a very nice shot, Jan.
The only thing that I don;t like is the Coca Cola sign, but you couldn't do anything about that. Well done.

This picture got me longing for summer. It's really good in the way it conveys the feeling of a relaxed summer evening. It is interesting to see the strange placement of advertisements.

A very colourful and fun shot, Jan. It's great the way they just parked the bus in the river. I also like how you have taken the photo at a distance from all the action, because it gives equal weighting to all the different parts of this composition, and doesn't just focus on one item. Personally, I think the coke can is the best. Very well captured and framed.

lol c'est le pays de la pub cette région meme sur les piliers de pont il y en a !
Pour la photo belle scène de vie bien mise en valeur par un bon cadrage , qui nous permet de voir un lieu particulier avec même un csacade sur la gauche de la scène !

Very nice documentary picture Jan! I like the motive very much, also clearified by your note. A rather unique moment I would say ;-) Good choice of keeping the tree on the left, it balances with the bridge on the right. Well done, and thanks for sharing!

Hello Jan,
This is an interesting landscape. The road is very interesting. SO as far as I understand instead of making a long bridge, they have digged the road to low level, is it true? Anyways I like your composition, Regards, Seda.

I look and lok again. There is so much to enjoy in this scene. This is a very good shot and your use of wide angle provides us with a big slice of life in this area. The colors are very rustic but the structures imply the intrusion of technology and modernity. A good documentary shot.

Interessantes toutes ces photos qui nous donnent une idée de la vie en République Dominicaine ! Nous avons même droit à la publicité pour Coca Cola! Savez vous que rhum et coca cola = Cuba libre ?
Photo bien réussie.
