Photographer’s Note
This is an old sugar cane scale in the Central Romana sugar fields , Central Romana sugar mill is the largest sugar mill in our country, it is located on the southeastern coast of the Dominican Republic, adjacent to the tourist town of La Romana.
The picture was taken about 5pm during a beautiful sunny day.
Hope you like.

Hi Emile,
The perspective here is well chosen. I like the graphism in the foreground as the eye moves from grass to track and orange fence. The proportion of sky is well managed. Good crisp clarity throughout. Well done, Emile.

Olá Emile
O colorido dsta foto chama atenção; o preto e laranja escuro em contrate com o céu claro ficou lindo.
Bonito trabalho Emile, parabéns.
Grande abraço,
Vera.

Hi Emile,
interesting object. Not the most attractive part of your beautiful country. I've crossed the sugarfields from Hato Mayor to San Pedro on bike; it was a hot experience that gave us an idea how hard labour must be here.

Hi Emile,
This is for my not known this type of sugar mill, you did very well the foreground with railway taking, also the mountains at the sky line gives a twisting view, excellent composition too.
Best regards,
John.

Hej Emile,
A good capture of this sugar cane scale. The open area behind it, makes it stand out very well against the nice blue sky. But I like there are some clouds too. The colours are very pleasing, well done!

Hi Emile
Sugar mills this old are becoming rare in the Carribean. I saw one as a child in the sixties in Guyana. Interesting shot and nice crisp details. Good colour and nice brightness. A good pespective. Well done.

Hi Emile
Good sharpness, color & lighting. Perhaps the inclusion of an old cane train in the fg, if they're still running? Or a person to add scale? Well done & tfs!

Hi Emile. I'm starting to find some time for TE again and I must say I really missed it. That old structure is very interesting to look at and makes for a fantastic focal point. I like the light you had at that time of day too. Great shot Emile!

Hi Emile,
Good shot of this old structure, in a beautiful sunny day. The colors are great and the landscape seems nice for some walks. That bridge is quite interesting and I can imagine some closer shots that explore the perspective and graphic potential of it. The contrast of colors in foreground is well captured and I especially like the reddish stripe of the ground, under the bridge.
Have a nice weekend,
Ricardo

Interesting shot of the old structure. I guess it is placed next to the railway purposely for transport. You made a good decision to include lots of the attractive sky.

Hi Emile, A nice and sharp image of the old scale. Although it is out of shape, it may be still in working condition as all pieces are in touched. You did a good job to this driving and shooting picture. Nice clarity and sharpness.

Hola amigo Emile

Hi Emile,
I like the story of this picture. There is a great desolation in it. Not a picture I should associate with sugar. It is a great memento of some industrial/agriculture activities on a forgotten place.
