The rice fields

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Another one from my early days of photography. Back when I was living in the Dominican Rep. This one I believe was done in the late 80s for presentation about the rural life.
In those days, the road from Santo Domingo to Puerto Plata was a two lane (one going, one coming) highway, and to the sides of the road, as you got closer to a town, you could see the geography changing as well as the products been cultivated.
Coming to close 'Bonao', a town prior to La Vega, they have rice fields. Here we can see the worker digging the field so the next day they could plant the rice.

Hi,
It is interesting that no one has commented on this image. I think it is much more meaningful than many other newer ones on TE. A lone man toils in an endless and muddy field with barefeet and a simple hand tool. His pale clothes are a bright contrast to the dark and ominous soil. The curves of the ditches are pleasing. This is excellent, but has gone unnoticed which is a pity.
I like the little patches of grass that come out of the black mud. I also like the reflection of the blue sky on the small water channels.
