Photographer’s Note
This engine is on display in a park in Puerto Plata. There is one like it in a park in Monte Llano, between Puerto Plata and Sosua.
When huge areas of land between Puerto Plata and Sosua were planted with sugar cane, engines like this were used to move the sugar cane.
Now much less land is devoted to sugar cane and trucks and wagons are used.
