Photographer’s Note
I am disappointed because I got very few good photos of the scenic Dominican countryside, but even so I want to show the best I have.
This one was shot in the hilly region on the foothills of the highest mountain range of the Caribbean near the town of Jarabacoa, on the way to the water fall of one of the Saltos of Jimenoa.
I posted two complementary views as WS's (1, 2), both shot near the road from Jarabacoa to Manabao, to the West of this photo.
Location (latitude, longitude): 19.118649,-70.597518 (I am not sure about the accuracy, but my guess is that the error isn't higher than a pair of Kms / 1 mile)
Update 13-Nov-2007: Following Henk Floydian's suggestion, I posted a 3rd WS with a cropped version of the photo seen here.

Hello Jose!
Dont't worry - I was 2 weeks in Italy and I haven't good landscape too. As I can see on this and Your previous photos from Dominicana weather was not good, so take a smile from me and take it easy.

F

Hi Jose,
Ha, you complain about a landscape while you have a great landscape in front of you? ;-) One of the most common things is that people think that landscape must be wider and wider...why?
Look at this one. Two horses, two palmtrees and a hill were the second palmtree stands. So, put you telezoom on and just focus on that part, looks like a very interesting composition.
Now it is a bit green and blue, not really interesting, but those palmtrees and horses can make something nice out of it.

Jose,
I'm not quite sure what you're complaining of. This is a very fine landscape shot and the scarce elements (palmtree and horses) provides enough interesting attention. You might have even zoomed into this elements. The light and the clouds provides a huge imapct on this shot.
You have my huge respect for taking shots from the DR countryside and not falling to the temptation of the classic beach shots.

Hello Jose! You portray the lushness of the countryside very well with this composition. The lone palm trees are very interesting to me, perhaps those would have been worth a telephoto shot. Color and sharpness are right on!
Well done!

Ola Jose,
A nice view of the hilly and grassy lanscape of the DR....Colors and sharpness are fine, but i think would be better without the barbed wire! But no problem... I also think WS 2 isa fine landscape one with nice light and shadow play...

Olá José,
a very lovely view with a strong summer impression. The DOF and contrasts from the grass and fence in the foreground to the distant forest and up to the sky are well done. Also the colours assist this. Two horses for some life and the nice impression of looking through something with the small tree left and the pile at the right. The curve of the cloud is an eyecatcher.

Hello José,
The pattern made by the clouds, sort of a semicircle opening to the left, is very inviting. It is said the the Caribbean Islands forn a similar pattern -- very appropriate for the area. The prohibitively large distance to the horses would have been better if less, but sometimes we just have that control. I like the image with the vegation growth in foreground and the fence forming both a frame and a source of scale.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Beauty of nature, the title for your nice pictures. I see the second ws more colourful but i still like this shot, the cloud's formation and the plant on fg make it more impressive. Well job Jose thanks for showing that.

Hello Jose,
Its seems to be quiet, beautiful place...
If not the palms I can find here, it could be a Polish village:)
Good photos with good POV, nice colours and even you were so lucky to have beautifuls clouds:)
Good job!

Hola Jose.

Regards.
Daniel.
