Colonial calm street, a photo from Santo Domingo, East

Photographer's Note

This photo was taken during a pleasant walk across the historical colonial center of the city of Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, accompanied by our host, friend and excellent guide Emile.

Here you can see one of the streets of this colonial area, which begins in the Independence Park, and passing through the Colon Park, where the "Catedral Primada" of America is located, comes up towards the Ozama River.

The beauty of the white architecture of these houses, the calmness of the street, and the clouds that were decorating the blue sky, were a good reason to take this photo.

Esta foto fue tomada durante un agradable paseo a través del centro histórico colonial de la ciudad de Santo Domingo, capital de la República Dominicana, en compañía de nuestro anfitrión, amigo y excelente guía Emile.

Aquí podéis ver una de las calles de esta zona colonial, que se inicia en el Parque Independencia, y pasando por el Parque Colón, donde se ubica la Catedral Primada de América, llega hasta el Río Ozama.

La belleza de la arquitectura blanca de estas casas, la tranquilidad de la calle, y las nubes que decoraban el cielo azul, eran una buena razón para tomar esta foto.

Hello Josep,

A very informative text about this place for future visitors like me. Beautiful houses with flowered plants kept on the windows. Nice palm trees on both sides of the street. A nice and quiet place for taking a stroll.

Une scène de rue réussie malgré une conditions de lumière pas faciles. L'exposition est bonne, aussi bien à l'ombre que sur les murs blancs éclairés.

Great shot and I like the atmosphere redered and it's a typical view flanked by those colonial buildings. The shooting angle and framing are the most impressive elements extending the depth while the human element is perfect to keep into perspective. Lighting is subtle, wonderful skyscape and fine contrast achieved, a charming shot that convey the overall feel of this historic place. Well done

hai voluto mettere in evidenza queste graziose case in stile coloniale addobbate con fiori colorati alle finestre.
Trasmettono un senso di pace senza la frenesia dei giorni attuali.
Ottimo il punto di ripresa, con un cielo splendido e grande equilibrio tra luci ed ombre.

Hola Josep.
Que calle mas hermosa y que buena perspectiva has conseguido, con la imagen de ese tipo de puerta al fondo de la calle, las casas tan bien mantenidas, forman un bonito conjunto colonial, fantastico cielo que con esas bonitas nubes, complementan muy bien esa bonito rincon.
Muy bien resuelta la diferencia de luces y sombras en que se divide la calle, el color muy natural y la buena nitidez, crea una imagen muy agradable de visualizar.

Nice picture from your visit to Dominica! The perspective has been well defined here. Light is quite strong & ideed the contrast with shade. Like the hanging grilled windows. The man adds life to this image...alone in the otherwise quiet & deserted street

This is such a gorgeous photo and framed masterfully. Josep, seriously this is one of your best photo's I've seen, but I’m sure there are more, but I find this one exceptionally perfect in every way. Color saturation is very natural and the light management is superior. Clarity is spot on and your POV and DOF are so perfect that I feel like my photos were taken with an etch-a-sketch.......ha ha.

Anyway, Josep this is one of your finest photos and I'm very pleased to have viewed it, great job!!
